The NWS Greenville-Spartanburg SC issued a report at 7:57 p.m. on Friday for strong thunderstorms until 8:30 p.m. for Buncombe County.

An updated report was issued from the NWS Greenville-Spartanburg SC on Friday at 7:06 p.m. for strong thunderstorms until 7:30 p.m. for McDowell Mountains and Eastern McDowell.

Severe thunderstorms could bring large hail, tornadoes, high winds and lighting to swaths of the Eastern Plains, according to the National Weather Service.

On Friday at 4:41 p.m. an updated severe thunderstorm warning was issued by the National Weather Service in effect until 5:15 p.m. for Jackson County.

Thunderstorms are likely across parts of Kent and Sussex from Friday evening, the Met Office has warned. An amber warning spanning parts of East Sussex and Kent has been issued until the early hours of Saturday, with a yellow warning in place across West Sussex.
