After a damp and gray Monday, storms return on Tuesday. They could deliver pockets of heavy rain and potentially damaging wind gusts. Once they’re over, though, we’re in for another run of sunny and summery days to close out the week.

The rain has started coming for Dallas-Fort Worth and it won’t stop coming, at least not for several days. Sunday night’s thunderstorms were forecast to bring several severe weather threats, but limited damage was reported Monday morning.

North Texas can expect a reprieve from the early summer heat this week, with cooler temperatures and significant rainfall anticipated, which could lead to localized flooding.

First Alert Weather days have been issued for Wednesday and Thursday as waves of heavy rain will move through the area.

More water is expected Tuesday as a storm system moves into North Texas from the Panhandle. Most of the showers are forecast to stay along and to the south of Interstate 20, according to the National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office.
